Mt Martha Preschool is a place where children are seen and heard.
Our program is child-centred, directed and initiated. We give children the opportunity and time to practise, revisit and consolidate their skills in the key learning areas of language, literacy, numeracy, the creative and expressive arts, science and social studies as well as stimulate their emotional and physical development.
Our aim is to provide children with experiences and opportunities that utilise their strengths and encourage them to acquire skills, knowledge, attitudes and sensitivities that allow them to make the most of their potential.
Our curriculum is diverse and informed by the latest thinking in early childhood education. We have created an environment that stimulates a child’s natural curiosity. Our students jump in mud pits; grow, eat and share healthy food; explore their local environment; play music; immerse themselves in pre-literacy and numeracy activities; and create all kinds of art pieces.
We cater for diverse individuals and needs, and we offer multiple opportunities for children to learn, develop and become the architects of their successes.
We are also passionate advocates of play: play is a child’s way of learning and understanding the world around them. It is an important medium for all aspects of their growth and their physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
Our programming is informed by the government’s Early Years Learning Framework for Australia.
